My mom collects medicinal herbs
every summer. So she and all family drinks herbal tea during winter. She used to
storage them in paper bags, but this summer she decided to put them into glass
jars with fabric lids. So now she can see what is inside and does not need to
look for tags. It is more practical and not so messy. Herbs „are breathing“
through fabric.
I noticed changes in tea drawer
and a vision of new design has appeared in my head. So I decided to make some
new fabric lids. I made a little mess on fabric with a help of sewing machine.
See how everything was created. Here’s a super easy tutorial. I did it, so you
can do it!
I craft, U craft!
Materials and tools:
- sewing machine (or hand sewing)
- sewing yarn (colors you like)
- organic fabric
- scissors
- pencil
- bowl (or someting round)
- office rubber bands (or fabric band)
Trace a circle on fabric with help of bowl and pencil.
Today's sewing
machines come with many sewing machine stitch options. Use different color of yarn for each stitch.
Go all over the fabric back and forth. Do not forget to sew edges of lids to
avoid fabric fraying.
Cut out circles and iron, if needed.
Put a fabric on a jar and wrap it with a rubber band around
one or several times. You can tie fabric
band instead.
